Etsy Love : el lohse

We love this girls etsy store- Elloh. The artists name is El Lohse and she does these super fun pop culture paintings. Most of the art in her store are reproductions of her original paintings. Wouldnt they make great gifts! I cant decide which one i would want for my office. Lloyd Dobler is a pretty solid choice followed by the Fab Four. Great colors too. Lets get the paints out! Inspiration can be found everywhere.

Shopping at slate

If you are in the Charlotte area you should stop by this new shop called Slate. It is a collection of individual booths with a mixture of traditional and contemporary furniture, accessories, jewelry, art etc. I love this new way to shop because you can hit so many different resources all in one place. The people at Slate are so wonderful to work with as well. My mom and I have a little booth there which has been fun to fill. Here are some images below of different items from different vendors. Call Slate at (704) 930-7890 if you are interested in anything specific.

Dub this for me

While cleaning out my office I stumbled on a little gem from the past. Specifically 1989-ish. I am dying over the playlist and just had to share it. I remember making this "Heavy Metal Slow Mix" and thinking it was so Hot. Yes, I spelled Angel by Aerosmith wrong. And yes I frequently used the BIC 4 color ballpoint pen. I am going to type these songs out bc I know some of you would love to do a little time traveling.

Ikat at Target

Ikat patterns are taking over the world, at least the US. I could not believe the selection of melamine dinnerware in funky cool patterns at Target. These plates and bowls would be so cute for dinner time with the kiddos. They are dishwasher safe and wont break when the baby throws them across the room. They also would add some glamor to hotdogs and mac n' cheese. Check them out here, dinner plates are $2.40 EACH!

Lets Start a Band

My boys and I love watching this video of Mumford and Sons performing at the Grammys. They look like they are having the best time. Anyone want to start a band?!

This is a crowd fave at our house too.

Palm Beach Bound

In honor of Spring Break we thought we would post some sunny pics from one of our favorite shops in Palm Beach- FS Henemader Antiques. Their collection of coral is unbelievable. They have so many unique finds presented in beautiful displays. Things are definitely not cheap but you can get so much inspiration from their style (and then head on down to the ole Dixie Hwy!)

These lamps can be purchased on their website here (for 3450$)

Design Celeb Sighting

Our friends Ashley and Jaime spotted the one and only Carleton Varney while visiting the Greenbrier! They said he was wonderful and sat and talked with them on two different occasions. They discussed fabric, design and the upcoming Miss America pageant hosted at the Greenbrier!

And in case you havent seen it. Here is the Winter window that Eddie Ross did for Carleton V. (images from eddieross.com)

Loft Living

Our friend Neil has just relocated to Richmond and set up house with her new hubby in a super cool loft. Neil started a line of stationery called Shuford Prints. You can see some of her work hanging in her loft. I love that she has an old letter press in her home. Jealous! I also love the turquoise wall.
